Colin Sutcher-Shepard is a graduate student in the Mathematical Sciences department at RPI. He was born in Oakland, CA and received his BA in Film and Digital Media from the University of California, Santa Cruz and MS in Applied Mathematics from California State University - East Bay prior to coming to Rensselaer. His research interest is in developing optimization algorithms for Machine Learning on Distributed Data sets.
